Prevagen for Dementia

Prevagen is an “over the counter” product that has been marketed as “improving focus and memory.” There is some debate on whether it can slow or delay the onset of dementia. There are no proven scientific research studies that prove these findings but there are some medical people that swear by Prevagen and it is a rather popular product.

A great quote is “you have nothing to lose if a loved one is starting to show early onset of dementia.”

From the Prevagen website:

Prevagen is a daily dietary supplement that has been clinically shown to help people with mild memory problems that are frequently associated with aging*. This important supplement has been shown to improve certain aspects of cognitive function over a 90-day period after a computer-assessed, double-blinded, placebo-controlled clinical study was performed. If you or someone you know is coping with memory-related issues, Prevagen can be an excellent way to improve memory and brain health*.

The active ingredient in Prevagen is apoaequorin, a protein that uniquely supports and improves brain function. Apoaequorin was originally discovered in jellyfish and is patented by Quincy Bioscience for use in a variety of products to support cognitive function. This ingredient is safe to consume.
