[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]There are literally hundreds of benefits that our country makes available to veterans, which we deservedly should. The frustrating part is that many benefits go unused because our veterans just don’t know they exist or how to access them.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
- Burial Benefits: There is a $300 burial reimbursement for any honorably discharged veteran and possible other benefits.
- Veteran’s Nursing Homes: Each State has at least one and although they are not free, they are much more economical for veterans. Most have waiting lists (sometimes lengthy) and there are also favorable “asset giving,” rules versus Medicaid.
- Disability Compensation: This is for any veteran that has a service related disability.
- Medical Benefits: Any veteran who was in active duty and was not discharged dishonorable may be eligible for the VA healthcare system. If you also served in the National Guard that turned into active duty, you can also be eligible for VA healthcare.
- Prescriptions: Most VA prescriptions are $8 or $9 per 30-day supply, which is a great deal.
- Home Care, Respite Care & Hospice: These are sometimes covered with different copays depending upon the situation.
- Eye Care & Glasses: Veteran’s are eligible for eye exams and glasses
- Aid in Attendance: A pension program that is for veteran’s that were enlisted in the military during wars or conflict (it can actually only be a day to count but you need to be honorable discharged).
- Help with Taxes: Free seminars with qualified volunteers.
Action Step: When in doubt about Veteran’s benefits, you can call 800-827-1000 or va.gov. You earned these benefits and are entitled to them.
Additional Information: VA Care Quality? Even though the VA Healthcare system has been portrayed unfavorably in the news lately, it still has a lot to offer. The VA system was the 1st national system to go strictly with an electronic medical record. The system also does a good job of meeting clinical goals in such areas such as cardiovascular and diabetes.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column] [/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Veteran’s Benefits” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center” use_theme_fonts=”yes”][vc_column_text]

“We can’t believe how much we received from the estate sale profits. We paid for Mom & Dad’s move to the senior living facility and added some $ to their savings which is great and the estate sale comapany did the work” I have heard this quote many times from seniors and their families after the estate sale process is over.
